the governing body took us along to an unusually high mountain, and showed us all the friends and family members that had been ripped away and they said to us.... .

When will you NOT go anymore ?

i ask this of all who know ttatt and yet still attend, i am interested, when will you judge it is the right time not to go to meetings anymore ?.

I knew TTATT for 3 years before I left physically. It was still a horrendous process and there's never a 'right time'. The repercussions were as serious as it gets and to be honest the anguish of attending meetings before knowing what I knew was nothing compared to the six months following our exit.

I would never urge someone to leave before they are as prepared as they can be for the fallout. You have to do what's right for your circumstances.

Urgent one day meeting in Britain ,do you know it was about ?

yestarday all our elders were invited to a one day meeting urgently .i know they had their elders meeting few months ago .does anyone know what it was about .i heard from the grapevine that among other issues disgussed was a)how to deal with disfellowshipped ones and, b) how to offer councel to fellow elders .any elder attended this meeting in britain please feel free to share some info.

How do I tell my husband?

i'm a born in, baptized as a young teenager, whole family is jw.

i just recently woke up after the new understanding of the fds was announced and it seemed to me to smack of power-grabbing.

i started looking at all the websites we're not supposed to, and now i know why.

I was once where you are. We're both out now. Take it slow and I second the recommendation to read Steve Hassan's books. It's like walking through a minefield, you need to learn how to navigate the hidden defense mechanisms in the JW mind before you attempt to reach him. You don't want to blow your marriage up.

Distrust and paranoia among faders

hi guys.

i'm interested in knowing whether any other faders out there ever find themselves feeling a little paranoid about establishing contact with other faders or former jws, just in case the unthinkable happens and things turn sour.. personally, i'm now fairly comfortable with the idea that i will be disfellowshipped or disassociated within the next year or so.

i see it as inevitable, and an essential transition in order to do what i want to do with my life.
